FAQs

What are the benefits of a Hospitalist?

Studies show that Hospitalists improve the quality of care, increase patient comfort, and prevent delays in day-to-day care and in the discharge of patients.

Can the Hospitalist become the patient's primary care physician?

Our time is dedicated to hospitalized patients. Patients will return to their primary care physicians upon release from the hospital.

Will the Hospitalist be aware of the patient's medical history?

We will have access to the patient's medical files and the primary care physician will make sure that we are fully briefed on the patient's condition. They will continue to communicate during the patient's stay in the hospital. We will provide a full report to the primary care physician upon the patient's discharge from the hospital.

What insurance is accepted?

We accept Medicare and all private insurances.

When will the Hospitalists see the patient?

We will see the patient during rounds every day and more often when necessary. Also, patients may request a visit with one of our board certified physicians through the nursing staff.

What if a patient's family has questions?

It is a good idea to have family members present when speaking to one of our physicians. Family members can contact the assigned physician through the nursing staff. It is best to have one family member to be the primary contact person for questions and information regarding the patient's health.
